Zeekr 001 FR - Chinese electric supercar that can spin on the spot

With 4 electric motors, Zeekr 001 FR has a capacity of 1,247 horsepower, accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 2.07 seconds, and has the special ability to spin on the spot.

The electric vehicle can perform tank turn skills (tank turn, or U-turn) thanks to 4 independent electric motors. If you want the car to spin in place, the two wheels on the same side will rotate in the same direction, for example, the two left wheels rotate forward, the two front wheels rotate backward. The company said that when the car rotates, the torque at the wheels reaches 10,000 Nm.

But not all four electric motors are identical. The front is a pair of 207 horsepower motors, while the rear is two 415 horsepower motors. Therefore, the 001 FR is a 4-wheel drive vehicle (with more initiative on the rear wheels). In addition, the rear motor uses carbon fiber to cover the rotor, and the power/weight ratio is 4.4 W/kg.

The 001 FR is equipped with a racing brake system: AP Racing brake calipers with 10 pistons at the front, and 4-piston brake calipers at the rear, along with Brembo carbon ceramic brake discs. 22-inch rims fitted with Giti Motorsport tires.

Powering the electric motors is a 100 kWh Qilin battery pack from CATL. The car can charge 10-80% in just 15 minutes.

A 15.4-inch control screen and 8.8-inch clock. All are based on Zeekr OS 5.0 operating system. The car is also equipped with NZP (Navigation Zeekr Pilot - Zeekr's driver support software when driving on the highway.

After launching in early September, Zeekr 001 FR (Future Roads - future roads) became Geely's most powerful car model. Zeekr currently has 3 products on sale: 001 hatchback, 009 minivan, and X SUV.

In 2022, Zeekr arrived in Europe. Customers in the Netherlands can currently pre-order the 001 and the car was exported from Ningbo, China, to Europe from mid-August. Over the next two years, Zeekr plans to expand to Norway, Germany, Denmark, and France, with the goal of being present in most Western European countries by 2026.

The 001 FR electric supercar version does not have a price yet, but the company said it received 99 orders in just the first 15 seconds of online ordering. Expected delivery time is October, and only 99 cars will be delivered each month. Estimated price is 140,000 USD.
